STRUCTURE OF THE ATHOLVILLE VILLAGE COUNCIL: 2004-2008

PUBLIC WORKS COMMISSION:

CHAIRMAN: Councillor Roger Cormier

MEMBERS: Councillors Gérard Bertin and Gérard Fallu

Responsibilities: streets, sidewalks, street lights, traffic lights, crosswalks, storm sewer facilities, retaining walls, curbs and culverts, street extensions or modifications, and snow removal; also responsible for all motor vehicles (except emergency van and fire-fighting vehicles) and all general tools and equipment (motorized and gas) .

PLANNING AND GENERAL DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION:

CHAIRMAN: Councillor Gisèle R. Chiasson

MEMBERS: Councillors Roger Cormier and Gérard Fallu

Responsibilities: the Village “Municipal Development Plan, zoning bi-laws and general village bi-laws.

WATER AND SEWERAGE COMMISSION:

CHAIRMAN: Councillor Gérard Bertin

MEMBERS: Councillors Roger Cormier and Gisèle R. Chiasson

Responsibilities: the Village’s garbage collector, treatment plant and collector, domestic sewerage pumping station, wells and pumping stations, water and domestic piping systems, and various small landfill sites in the Village.

RECREATIONAL, CULTURAL AND SPORTS COMMISSION:

CHAIRMAN: Councillor Gérard Fallu

MEMBERS: Councillors Gisèle R. Chiasson and Roger Cormier

Responsibilities: sports buildings, ball fields, sports and recreational equipments, sports van, open air rink, community swimming pool facilities, and also, recreational and cultural programs for people of all ages.

FIRE DEPARTMENT AND FIRE PREVENTION COMMISSION:

CHAIRMAN: Councillor Jean Soucy

MEMBERS: Councillors Gérard Bertin and Gérard Fallu

Responsibilities: the entire administration of the fire department, purchasing and general maintenance on all fire fighting equipment, vehicles, etc. Upkeep of the fire department’s physical facilities such as garage, lounge, poolroom, kitchen and washroom facilities, and also, various fire prevention and training programs for the brigade.

INDIVIDUAL RESPONSIBILITIES

REGIONAL POLICING SERVICES:

REGIONAL AMBULANCE SERVICES:

EMO PROGRAM FOR OUR VILLAGE:

SUPERVISION, MAINTENANCE AND UPKEEP OF THE “ATHOLVILLE INDUSTRIAL PARK BUILDINGS, LEASING, VISIT WITH POTENTIAL COMPANIES, ETC.:

Responsibilities: the maintenance of all municipality-owned buildings, erection and construction of any new facilities, except buildings for sports facilities Councillor Roger Cormier
